About Us

Welcome to NagalandDictionary.com, the digital home for Naga languages, culture, and connection.
Our mission is simple yet deeply meaningful to preserve, promote, and make accessible the diverse tribal languages of Nagaland through a single, easy-to-use online platform.

Our Purpose

Nagaland is home to a mosaic of tribes, each with its own language, identity, and way of life.
But as the world moves rapidly toward digital communication, many of these beautiful languages face the risk of fading away.

NagalandDictionary.com was created to bridge that gap combining the rich oral traditions of the Naga people with modern technology, so that no word, no dialect, and no story is ever lost.

We aim to help both younger generations of Nagas and language learners around the world explore and understand the many voices that make up Nagaland’s linguistic heritage.

What We Do

At NagalandDictionary.com, we’re building a growing, community-driven dictionary and translation platform covering multiple Naga languages including Angami, Ao, Chakhesang, Chang, Konyak, Lotha, Sumi, Yimkhiung, Zeliang, and more alongside Nagamese and English.

Our platform allows users to:

  • 🔍 Search words instantly across languages
  • 🗣️ Hear pronunciations and learn accurate word usage through community examples
  • ✍️ Contribute translations or examples to strengthen the shared Naga linguistic database
  • 🌍 Connect languages digitally, so they stay alive, relevant, and accessible to everyone

Every word entry is reviewed by our editorial team and native speakers to ensure authenticity, accuracy, and respect for the culture it represents.

Our Vision

We envision a Nagaland where technology empowers language preservation.
By merging tradition with innovation, NagalandDictionary.com seeks to become the central digital archive of Naga languages not just for research and education, but also for cultural pride and identity.

We believe that when people speak, write, and learn in their mother tongue, they keep their culture alive.

Community & Collaboration

This project thrives on community participation.
We welcome students, linguists, elders, writers, and everyday speakers to contribute their knowledge and help us grow this shared linguistic library.
Each contribution a word, a phrase, a pronunciation, or an example helps preserve a part of our collective heritage.

Our connected network includes:
